The book 'The Sisterhood of the traveling pants' is written by Ann Brashares. The book is about the friendship of four 15-year-old girls.
The four girls Lena, Bridget, Tibby and Carmen spent their first summer holidays seperated, since they have been little children. They find a jeans in a second-hand shop. The pants fits everyone of them, what they think, is impossible. Carmen decides there has to be something magical. They plan to send the pants to each other and they make some rules, like putting a letter in the package with the pants.
Lena and her sister Effie visit their grandparents in Greece. Lena draws a lot and she gets to know Kostos. The two fall in love, but because of a fight between their grandparents they have some problems. Their grandparents leave over their differences and Lena and Kostos kiss.
Bridget visits a soccer holiday camp for girls in Mulegé in Mexico. She finds some friends and fell in love with Eric, a coach. Bridget collects some sexual experience with Eric. After that Bridget realizes that she just has done this to prove that she is not like her depressive mother has been before her death. Lena travels to Mexico to calm her.
Tibby stays at home. She works at Wallman's to earn some money. A little girl, named Bailey, falls over in aisle two. She calls an ambulance. After coming home from the hospital Bailey helps Tibby to make a movie. Than Tibby learn about Bailey's leukemia. She gets to know Brian McBrian, who always plays videogames at Wallman's. She starts to like him. Her rat Mimi and Bailey die at the same day. Tibby has visited her in hospital.
Carmen visits her dad. He has not told her about getting maried and about his new blond stepchildren Krista and Paul. Carmen feels like an undresirable guest in the home of her father. She does not like his new family. Her dad has no time for her and she gets angry when she has to try a dress for the wedding. The dress is to small for her. Lydia, the girlfriend of her father and Krister laugh. Carmen changes her clothes and runs away. After a while she goes back to the house of her dad and his new family, but she notices that her dad has not searched for her. They sit on the table in the dining room and have dinner. They laugh and they are happy. Carmen gets angry and throw a rock at the window. Then she runs away and takes a bus home, without her clothes. At home she helps Tibby feeling better. Tibby helps her to communicate with her dad. Carmen and Tibby go to the wedding.
